Self assuring Nigerian movie star Messy Johnson couldn’t control her overly jealous poor boyfriend after she became a star. He was traveling with her from audition to audition toting her bags thinking that they will be together forever more. “He gets angry and sometimes when we are watching movies together, he gets angry and goes to TV set and slaps the face of the person. He does not like me being kissed on set,” She said.

At some point, she didn’t want a boyfriend as a body guard anymore, especially then, an inspiring star--the only solution was to dump him which she did with no regret at all for the sake of her career.  I don’t know, but I just think that it didn’t work.” She said recently in an interview.

A close friend of the star said she dumped him all because he was too jealous and sticky on her.  “The fact that I’m an actress made my case bad, but then it could have happened to any other person” Johnson said.

The frustrated boyfriend heart was broken but Johnson didn’t really care. He took his case to Johnson’s father for intervention, but she refused to heal. “My father insists that I stay with him and stop acting” Staying with her poor boyfriend who didn’t have even a bicycle was too much for her. “I said no to that—I couldn’t stop acting for a poor boyfriend, no!

“I maintain a very good relation with him but for now we can go our separate ways” she said.

Her advice is, “when you are dating a man who is jealous, you have to let him go if you want to pursue your career.”
