“This movie
is a

trash and
copy-cat of
nothing and
a total

to the

low-life
call a

Movie critic, Promise Nah, looked at the Movie and gave us this Review
Beyonce or
Rihanna?
I
know; it’s
like
choosing
between fufu
and soup and
palm butter
and rice;
both are
absolutely
yummy.
We all know the story of Beyonce and Rihanna, (if there was any story). The so-called beef between the Umbrella singer and the princess of Jay’s dynasty was the juice of every tabloid magazine in the world. Rumors have it that B and Rih Rih were beefing because Jay was being …um “unfaithful.” It seems like little Rih Rih was being a bad girl, so B decided to ring the alarm and was about to kick Jay to the left…to the left. Of course this was all rumors because Rih Rih and B are cool and B and Jay recently jumped the broom. So that was your two cents worth of background information on Beyonce and Rihanna. Now back to the African Movie.
The
movie has
nothing to
do with the
actual
Beyonce (you
know the ten
time Grammy
winning,
super sexy,
incredibly
gifted
“Dream
Girl”), or
the actual
Rihanna (You
know that
girl that
has the cute
hair cut…oh
yeah she
also sung
the
umbrella
song). Even
the names of
the
characters
and the
characters
themselves
were
different
from the
actual
people the
movie was
“based” on.
Brince and
Rhyme
(supposedly
Beyonce and
Rihanna) are
two
contestants
competing in
an American
Idol-like
competition.
During the
first cycle,
Rhyme (Omotola
Jalade) won
and Bernice
(Nadia Buari)
never got
over it.
Even
after many
years,
Bernice
still claims
that Rhyme
cheated and
that she
only won
because the
judges were
playing
favorites.
True
or false,
well you
will find
out.
Things got a
little
interesting
when the
producers
began
manipulating
the
contestants,
offering the
prize to
girls that
do them
favors…sexual
favors that
is. With the
help of her
“Americanized”
friend,
(some random
girl shaking
her booty
everywhere
claiming to
be Shakira)
and her
record
producing
boyfriend (
apparently
Jay Z’s)
Bernice is
determined
to win the
competition
at all cost
and Rhyme is
not giving
up. Which
girl will
take the
producers
offer and
exchange
“favors” for
the top
spot?
It’s a
comedy by
accidence.
I’m pretty
sure it was
not intended
to be a
comedy, but
watching the
thirty-something
year old
Omotola
playing the
role of the
barely legal
Rihanna, and
Nidia as
Beyonce,
cast in a
movie that
has nothing
to do with
the actual
plot is too
funny to be
deem as a
Drama.
Speaking of
Omotola, at
that age,
she still
looks
drop-dead
gorgeous and
can still
fit into
miniskirts.
As for her
acting, it
is still
award-winning.
You will
hatefully
love it!
Every minute
of it will
upset you,
but you will
dare not
leave your
seat or
blink.
So why did
the
producers
and
directors
choose to
titled the
movie
Beyonce and
Rihanna? The
answer is
simple.
Producers
and
directors
know their
audiences
very well.
They knows
that the
moment we
see Beyonce
or Rihanna,
our heart
will
starting
pounding and
every muscle
in our body
will want to
see the
film. The
name sells.
Money!
Money!
Money!
Yet,
again, we
are fooled
by them and
we will
always falls
victim to
these
predators,
preying on
our hard
earned
dollar. But
since we
volunteer to
be victims,
it is not an
actual
crime. This
is the price
we agree to
pay for
entertainment.
So stop
complaining
when you
lose another
hard earn
dollar on a
deceptive
movie.
