A proud and
caring mother of four,
Patience's first son is an
engineer while the last is a
footballer with Rangers
International of Enugu.
Although she lost her
husband a few years ago to a
terminal disease, she is
full of joy and gratitude to
God for her achievements in
the
entertainment
world. The actress recalled
her days as a teacher,
broadcaster and owner of a
fashion institute before she
went into
acting
by accident or better still,
as fate would have it.
Recently, African Star
spotted the beloved actress
in Philadelphia and briefly
conducted an exclusive
interview with her. In the
interview, the
internationally known
actress proclaims she is not
wicked. Read interview below

African Star (AS):
How do you cope with the role
of a wicked African woman,
which
you play in movies into your
real Life?
Mama Gee: The Mama Gee you
see in Movie is different
from the Patience you see
standing in front of you. If
someone is playing a drunk,
let me ask you now, does it
mean the person is drunk?"
If I’m playing wicked woman,
I’m only playing it but I’m
not wicked. We only try to
bring out the ills of the
society. And if at all you
take a look at all our
movies, there is a lesson to
be learnt - the end of a
wicked is usually bad.
AS:
What is your message to
upcoming artists that want to
be like you?
Mama Gee: It is up to one to
admire another to
wish to be like that person.
My advice is you try to be
yourself. Don’t try to be
Mama Gee, because you can
never get to be Mama Gee.
And I never try to be like
someone who was there before
me. You see, God is the
giver of the rights and has
deposited into every
person who has skills. You
have discover your own gift
and the world will
appreciate you that what you
are not because you want to
be like someone else.
Like when we started, we
never wanted be like the
whites to play like them,
rather we decided to play
our movie, and movie of the
people by the people and for
the people and the world has
accepted us for who we are.
AS:
How many Children you have?
Mama Gee: I have four
children, three boys and a
girl. I’m divorce and will
not marry again.
AS:
What is the story behind the
movie "Old School"?
Mama Gee: First and foremost
it is meant to make you
laugh. It is about a woman
who lives in the past. She
never wanted to come out
from the past--- the life
she lived when she was
young. Things like that
cause problem for some
family that is what Old
School is about. And thanks
all of you for having me in
Philly.
